The Grapevine Lions Club was Chartered on November 26th 1934, and is part of the worlds largest service organization, Lions Clubs International where more than 1.4 million Lions serve 44,500 Lions Clubs located in 186 countries world wide.

Our Club was sponsored by the Decatur Lions Club, and is the oldest service organization in Grapevine, chartered before there was a Chamber of Commerce. It is a little known fact that the cities present house numbering system was initiated by the Lions Club, and the group provided wooden posts and crosspieces for street signs.

For additional information about our Club or any of our Charities or Projects please contact us via email or by sending your questions or comments to any of our Officers or Directors of the Grapevine Lions Club.

Nursing Home Projects - In the past we have made 168 stockings and wreathes for the residents of the Integrated Health Services at Woodridge and Brookhollow Nursing facilities in Grapevine.  Each stocking was stuffed with items donated by local businesses and personalized with a residents name.  We have a party at each facility, where we put up a Christmas Tree, served cookies and punch, sang carols, presented the stockings/wreathes and had a special visit from Santa Claus.  Each resident also had their picture taken with Santa Claus to keep.

MetroPort Meals on Wheels - Our club has started delivering Meals on Wheels to residents in Grapevine.  We will be delivering Route 2 on the 4th Saturday of each month.  Contact Lion Jim Bruce to sign up to help.

Cannon Elementary - Purchase uniforms and shoes as needed for students at the school.

McFadden Ranch - McFadden Ranch is the temporary home of some 48 young men between the ages of 14 and 18 who are wards of the Texas Youth Commission. Each of these "kids" has been placed in this state "facility without fences" and become a legal ward of the state for some non-violent offense. Here they experience a program designed to show them alternatives in life choices and to build a greater sense of responsibility for self and others.

Our Lions Club has provided tickets to athletic events, funding for programs and assisted in providing them with community service opportunities through eye glass recycling.
